Career Counseling and Placement Cell
Career Guidance is a counselling program that helps students choose the right career path based on their educational and professional choices. A qualitative and quantitative assessment of the student's knowledge, skills, information, and experience identifies which career options are available. A career can be briefly defined as the path of an individual during his education and work. In the past, it was normal for an individual to choose only one profession for his lifetime, for instance, teacher, banker, civil servant, doctor etc. But, with the advancement in technology and rapid changes in the market, this is not possible anymore. People need to change their workplaces and professions more often. Because of this, the term profession has become a very new term and is replaced with the term ‘career’ which describes the progress and actions one has taken throughout the working years of life, especially related to occupation. A career could define what you do for a living and range from those that require extensive training and education. A career could mean working as a doctor, lawyer, teacher, carpenter, veterinary assistant, electrician, cashier, teacher or hairstylist. The Career Counseling and Guidance Cell of the college is a very vibrant and active department that organizes guest lectures, seminars and expert guidance for students to choose the right path in their professional lives. It also endeavours to keep them updated with the changes and demands taking place in the market and economy to select the best career option available.
